The word “sexy” is used by many Myanmar people to describe girls. However, it is often used in a navigative manner. Let’s take a look at this example.
Guy A: Hey, have you seen Moe Hay Ko’s infamous video? She is so sexy!
Guy B: I know, right. It’s digusting.
If you were not familiar with myanmar’s usage of the word “sexy”, you’d be wondering why being “sexy” is digusting. Well, many myanmar people are misusing the word “sexy” to describe “horny”, “sexually arroused” or “provoking sexual arousal”. And it is WRONG.
So, what is the correct meaning of “sexy”?
According to Wiktionary, sexy means having sexual appeal, very attractive or appealing. So when someone says she is sexy, he is complimenting her on her looks and attractiveness. It has got nothing to do with her wanting to have sex and looking horny.
